We Believe in Joe Hendry!

After a cracking first night of WrestleMania yesterday, we were well and truly set for an even bigger night two this evening. But little did we know the treat that awaited us!

By now we were getting sick and tired of the Las Vegas crowds and the heat, so we decided to have a chill session in the room this morning.

The NBA playoffs were continuing so we watched that in the room. It wasn’t the most exciting game as OKC pumped the Grizzlies by 51pts. What a shambles.

After the game we thought it might be time to finally head off. The walk to the stadium is over an hour, but the problem is navigating all the people and slow walkers, not to mention the heat.

Along the way we stopped by the Excalibur hotel on our mission to find some lunch and lo and behold there was a random Jimmy Johns! We couldn’t believe our eyes. Next we couldn’t believe our ears, as they had ran out of bread. The dream had died!

We continued on and got to Allegient Stadium around 1:30pm and soaked up the atmosphere. First off we stopped to check out some of the festivities, then got front row for the Pat McAfee show which was good fun.

Given we missed out on Jimmy Johns for lunch, we stocked up on some bottomless popcorn inside the stadium and had that for lunch instead. Night 2 was about to kick off!

WrestleMania Night 2 Card

Night 2 kicked off with the bloated, obligatory rendition of the American national anthem. Fully equipped with your army veterans saluting the flag and egos galore. But it wasn’t long before the action began.

First up was the Women’s World Championship triple threat with Iyo Sky defeating Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley. One of the biggest cheers of the night came for Ripley, which is pretty cool considering she’s an Aussie.

This was one of the better matches for the night and was a great finish with Iyo sneaking in with a moonsault for the win.

Next up was Drew McIntyre vs Damian Priest in a Sin City Street Fight. Overall it was a pretty entertaining fight, as is any match where they get the tables and chairs out. Drew won, which we were happy about.

The next match was the fatal four-way with Dom Mysterio, Finn Balor, Bron Breakker and Penta squaring off. This match was an absolute banger with Mysterio winning his first major singles title pinning Balor. He got a great pop from the crowd too, especially considering he’s a heel. Maybe a face turn is to come?

Up next was the Randy Orton open challenge. His original opponent Kevin Owens had a genuine injury so Orton issued a challenge to someone in the back which would be a surprise on the night. And what a surprise!

We were waiting in anticipation and then the music hit – “Say his name and he’ll appear. I believe in Joe Hendry!”. It’s safe to say we now believe in Joe Hendry. What an entrance. What entertainment! It was a quick match as Hendry ate two RKO’s, but it was one of our highlights of the week. One we won’t forget.

Unfortunately such an epic moment was followed up by an absolute stinker with the AJ Styles and Logan Paul match. Man, Paul sucks so much and they squashed Styles to get this guy the win. Probably the worst match of the two nights.

The penultimate match was the women’s tag titles with Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriquez facing Lyra Valkria and a mystery opponent, which was revealed to be Becky Lynch. It wasn’t a bad match, but removing Bayley to get Lynch in seemed a strange move.

Now it was time for the main event and one of the most anticipated matches on the entire card – Cody Rhodes versus John Cena. The atmosphere was electric and the crowd noise was so loud it was deafening.

Too bad the match didn’t live up to the hype. In fact, it was an absolute stinker. The match itself started off ok, but some dipshit rapped intervened in the match (after taking forever to enter the ring) and interfered so Cena could win. Oh, and there was no appearance from The Rock, which everyone was anticipating.

So there it was, night two of WrestleMania in the cards and what a brilliant two nights it was.

Now it was time to make the long walk home and the crowds were absolutely insane. There were people everywhere and we were walking at a snails pace.

We stopped by the Jimmy Johns from earlier to see if they had any bread and to our delight they did. So we had a sandwich for tea and then headed back to our room.
